Our School Mission
To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment where everyone will develop a love of learning. We adopt “The Glebe Way” where all children will:
Grow together
Learning together
Enjoy together
Believe in themselves
Encourage each other
Staff and Governors have looked at the core purpose of the school and after much passionate discussion, arrived at the statement ‘Developing successful lives’. We feel that everything we do for the children, whether it’s a maths lesson, sports, discussing emotional welfare, British Values, art, healthy living, team work, even good habits of attendance – everything we do is focused on developing their life skills so they have a chance of a successful life, both in their work and their personal life.
This statement also applies to staff. Leaders are always looking at ways to further develop staff through training or supporting them on personal challenges. We also like to think it applies to families and we hope to offer support through signposting for learning courses or to support services for other concerns such as counselling, puberty concerns or other personal issues. We recognise that family life impacts on children and we want to provide support for all.
The staff and governors also discussed our core values and which principles we felt we had to hold true to. The staff here feel very passionate about the education of children so there was a strong debate but also strong agreement around our stated core values of honesty, respect and fulfilment, whether that is achievement of high outcomes in learning, their ruby prize point award, running their best ever race, playing in a school sports team or being someone’s best friend at a time of need.
