Platinum Award Mark for Sports

We have now achieved the School Games Platinum Mark for Sports in 2018/19 and 2019/20. Thank you to everyone who has supported our sporting activities this year and helped towards our successful application for Platinum.

Sports Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money. Maintained schools receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil in years 1 to 6 based upon the annual census.

Sporting legacy from the Olympics is promoted though the County Sports Partnerships and the School Games. Glebe Junior School participate fully in all aspects of the local Sports Partnership. Mrs Watson, Y4 Teacher, is the School Sports co-ordinator for South Normanton and Pinxton schools and works across the Bolsover district promoting healthy lifestyle choices. The School Games is a national programme that aims to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive sport and physical activity.
